The mold Shop Manager is responsible for supervising all facets of production tooling operations, encompassing mold design, mold fabrication, insert production, and mold maintenance

Description
- Ensure adherence to organizational policies and safety standards within the Mold Shop Department
- Manage staffing changes and employee training to maintain the efficient operation of the Mold Shop
- Oversee mold making projects to ensure compliance with specifications and planned schedules
- Offer support to the Development Department during the initial stages of new projects, facilitating an efficient mold-making process and production
- Supervise the development of new molds, including 2D/3D design, construction, progress planning, etc., and implement necessary measures for improvement
- Implement mold improvements for projects based on OEE data and profit ratio (CSP)
- Initiate and monitor mold flow simulations to optimize runner setup
- Regularly update related departments on the progress of the mold-making process
- Provide guidance to employees in addressing mold-making problems and issues
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and repair of equipment and production tooling
- Conduct continuous checks on the quality and quantity of molds for new projects
- Supervise the test injection of new molds, verifying the quality of parts, function, and handling of molds
- Monitor production tooling and mold-making costs
- Prepare Planned Cost Breakdowns for molds in new projects and compare them with Real Cost Breakdowns
Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field * A minimum of 3 years of managerial experience in mold construction and injection molding
- Preferred experience in the sports shoe industry
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software is essential
- Knowledge of Lean systems (e.g., Six Sigma) is advantageous
- Fluent in English with strong skills in speaking, reading, and writing
- Essential qualities include strong leadership, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and a commitment to continuous improvement
