Position Overview:
We are looking for a Mid-Level Software Engineer who has hands-on experience in API integration, data mapping, and data transformation. The ideal candidate will play a key role in building and maintaining reliable, scalable, and efficient systems that seamlessly connect and transform data across platforms and services.
This role demands strong technical skills, problem-solving ability, and a deep understanding of working with APIs and data-driven applications.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain API integrations between internal systems and external partners/vendors.
Analyze, map, and transform data between different schemas, ensuring accuracy, performance, and security.
Build and maintain ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines when necessary for system interoperability.
Collaborate with product manager to deliver integration solutions on time.
Monitor integration health and troubleshoot any API/data issues proactively.
Ensure all integrations comply with security standards and data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, local laws).
Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code following software engineering best practices.
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
Practical experience in API integration with client services
1–3 years of professional software development experience.
Ability to read the P/TRD and translate the specification to clean code base
Experience with RESTful APIs and SOAP APIs (understanding of authentication, error handling, pagination, etc.).
Solid knowledge of data mapping principles (source-to-target mappings, data validation, schema transformations).
Hands-on experience with data transformation tools/libraries (e.g., JSON transformation, XML, XSLT, middleware tools).
Proficient in one or more programming languages used widely in web based application (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, Go, or PHP).
Familiarity with integration platforms or middleware (e.g., Mulesoft, Apache Camel, Zapier, or custom-built solutions).
Understanding of database technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL databases) and data modeling basics.
Experience working with version control systems (e.g., Git).
Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Good communication skills and ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with event-driven architectures (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, AWS EventBridge).
Knowledge of cloud services (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and serverless architectures.
Understanding of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
Prior experience integrating third-party payment systems, CRM, ERP, or similar complex APIs.
